Note: This course cost has been temporarily reduced to help cover the costs of purchasing lab supplies. All students must purchase their own lab supplies to prevent cross contamination of COVID and for the possibility of another quarantine. The cost of lab supplies should also be covered by charter school funds if purchased through an approved vendor.

Jr. High – Grade Level 7-8 - two semester course
Cost of class: $350 semester
Charter Only - Split-Class Option:   $210 Life Science Lecture Course (Online) paid by Charter PO

EIE (Monrovia): Tuesdays: 1:30 - 3:00 p.m.

This class will include such topics as:

  • Intro to Cell Biology
  • Protein Synthesis
  • Photosynthesis
  • Genetics
  • Origins
  • Ecology

 We will also cover classification and will conduct a brief survey of the kingdoms including:

  • Archaebacteria
  • Eubacteria
  • Protists
  • Fungi
  • Plants
  • Animals including:
    • Invertebrates
    • Arthropods
    • Vertebrates

A brief study of some of the systems of the human body is also included.
This course meets weekly for 1.5 hours (45 min. of lecture, 45 min. of lab). Weekly homework assignments from the textbook, lab reports and handouts will be completed by the students at home each week. Tests will be taken online at home and are to be administered by their parent. One in-class practicum test will be given by the instructor.
