8th - 9th grade level
Class duration 2 semesters.
This class will cover material in the following areas; the scientific method, energy and motion, acceleration and momentum, matter (solid, liquid, gas), atomic structure and chemical bonds, properties of substances, light, sound waves, electricity, electronics, nuclear reactions and energy sources.
The class will meet for 90 minutes once a week. This course includes lecture, hands-on labs, homework assignments, tests, and a science fair project.

A textbook and lab book is required, all other materials are included in the cost of the class. The following textbook may be ordered by contacting EIE at 626-821-0025. (Used editions can be found in an online search).
The lab book will be available to all on the first day of class for $20.
